Montclair, NJ was established as a township in 1868.  We are surrounded by Glen Ridge, Clifton, Bloomfield, Verona, Cedar Grove, and West Orange.  Montclair is close enough to NYC so that the commute is easy, (12 miles) but far enough away so that you can live in a gorgeous home with a nice piece of land, maybe even with a view of the New York City skyline.

The 7 Train Stations and Bus Routes all over town with direct to NYC service, create urban accessibility with suburban benefits.

Montclair is recognized for its historic architecture, including six historic districts. Some of the structures featured in the township were designed by prominent architects such as Van Vleck, Dudley Van Antwerp, Goldsmith, Charles A. Platt, Charles Follen McKim, Mead, and several other notable architects.

Almost 175 acres of parks and peace and quiet are some of the benefits.  This is not to say that there is little activity in Montclair.  Au contraire!   If you have an interest, there is most likely a group here who not only shares your interest, but already has a calendar of events just waiting for you.  It’s no wonder so many intelligent, active, engaging people live here.

What are you waiting for?  Are you concerned about walkability?  Don’t want to leave NYC or Brooklyn or Hoboken, because you think you’ll have to drive everywhere?  Not true.  We have 6 distinct commercial zones surrounded by magnificent homes on tree-lined streets.

Montclair has a vibrant arts community and excellent school system.  Really now, what more do you want, a Museum?  Got it.  Town pools?  Got it.  A Concert Hall?  Got it.  A Farmer’s Market?  Got it.  Theaters?  Got it.  Country Clubs? Covered.   You get the picture.

I hope this website helps to quell your curiosity and bring you a step closer to understanding why Montclair is my favorite little piece of heaven.
